ON SEPTEMBER 3RD F-AUTO WAS IN RUDENSK FOR THE MERRY “DeRe” OLYMPICS

ABOUT THOSE WHO GAVE FROM THE HEART
Last year there were far fewer than 160 children studying at the boarding-school, so in preparation for our trip to Rudensk this year we met with the headmaster in order to determine the children's most urgent needs and then set out to join forces with those who were like-minded. Among them were: Alpha radio; “Funny sport” company; program collective "Curing magic" of the UNESCO Belorussian Clubs Association, and of course many outstanding Misnkovites that kindly opened their hearts. One family bought 10 packages with clothes, toys and books to the “MOTOR”. We’d like to express special thanks to Sergey Barnatovich and his wife who helped to purchase gifts for the children.
THE MEETING

We were worried about the weather on the way to Rudensk, It was 14°C and the sky was grey, our outdoor "Olympic Games" hung in the balance! Liza, our most valuable organizer, put on her magic galoshes (the sky always clears when she does this) - but even she seemed a bit stressed out. Once in Rudensk though, the bad weather was forgotten upon the sight of familiar faces along with all the new ones that had been waiting anxiously the holiday cheer we wanted to bring them. And ready we were, let the games begin!

LIGHT RAIN

We divided the large Rudensk playing-field into 6 sections. Each section had a fun competition. We chose up 6 sides. Our team was called “Sunshine”, we put on yellow ribbons and suddenly it began to rain! I was praying to the Rain God and Liz was tap-dancing with her magic galoshes, but children were looking at their homes and gradually went under the trees. Then suddenly the rain stopped and the sun lit up the whole playing-field. It was our first victory!!!

WE ARE EXPLAINING THE RULES

So judges for each competition were chosen from among the adults. Each team had it's own color ribbon. The presenter explained the rules and everyone wanted to win. Each team had 2-3 adults to pass the competition correct and easy. The teams weren't exactly equal but no one was giving up.

Do you bite the bullet?
Hurry for the victory!
GET READY, GET SET…..

The games have begun. The children enthusiastically changed into gladiator clothing and engage in giant boxing and car driving. If you think that the older children were going to win, think again. The best gladiators were the little ones. Competition on pillow cast was performed rather enthusiastically. Here senior children presented their selves well. And at competition “water carrier” children of dysmotility took part too and showed excellent result!!!

HAMSTERS’ RACINGS

Hamsters’ racings were the most exactable competition for children. As soon as children saw a hamster track (it had been made at F-auto warehouse) they imagined there would be a surprise for them.
At this time Liz and the Presenter announced the next competition – hamster’s racings!!! Children were so excited and happy!!! Only 30 seconds passed and hamsters’ track was full of children. It was time to choose the right hamster!

AWARDING THE TALENTS

The artists, who had been drawing with children, informed us that there were some talented children and they had to get prizes. Liz was pleased to announce the names of the best artists. There were really interesting pictures. Presents were taken by children and in 5 minutes happy children were looking through copy-books, stationery and tasted sweets.

PRESENTS FOR EVERYBODY!

“A burden of one's own choice is not felt the burden one likes is cheerfully borne”. This proverb is about children from Rudensk for 100%. All presents were given with happiness and satisfaction)

DANCE DANCE

There was also the most remarkable and positive moment. These were long-awaited dances accompanied by wonderful songs. We were reeling, dancing and running. We had a real harmony, merriment, and the most important thing was event was full of children’s smiles! It seemed to all of us these were usual children who were having fun and relaxingthe same as children of their age.

A FIRE SHOW

Aha, Do you think our surprises have ended there? You wrong! We have a nice girl Liz who has invited a real fire show!!! Many children from this orphan boarding-school have never seen such show and some of them even don’t know anything about it.
And when darkness fell and dances were over everybody cycled form. In the middle of this form was a man who holds a real fire in his hand. Children really enjoyed the show!

See you later!

And then the inexorable goodbye. All day the children asked, "and what will be of tomorrow?". It was very sad to have to answer that tomorrow would be Sunday – a day off and we wouldn’t be there. It strains credulity that we could have such an impact in one day, but it was so. It's always difficult to leave but we are sure it’s not our last visit. This year or next year we will meet our little friends again in Rudensk.
Till then!
